Below appears my history of trying to figure out what final project idea I wanted to model.
This is an attempt at modeling a stage from the game Splatoon 3--made by me.

I was having a lot of trouble figuring out what to make. My idea here was to assist teams in competitive splatoon by creating a tabletop map for their games that they can physically communicate over. Then there would be a mechanism to change the topography of the model by selecting the map they wish to review.
Below is an overhead drawing that was made by a different creator: Sunfish
The style of this sort of drawing is what I would use for teams to discuss gameplans over. It removes the perspective that any 3D model would have.
Notes from my confusion:
I was having trouble creating ideas this week because I wanted to make the most of the time I had to think about what could be my final project idea.
This proved immensely difficult though. I don’t know what skills we’ll be able to do by the time the class finishes. I couldn’t come up with something and have it eventually be my final project idea.
I asked for some help from The Forge community. Ultimately, I figured out that didn’t need to know exactly what I wanted to do, just to have an idea of what might be fun without any stress over how I’d eventually build it.
I had a few ideas.
Brainstorm ideas:
- Eve a floating robot
- Doggy fence that unreels whenever you open the door
- RGB light room
- table desk lamp that talks while you draw
- A desk setup organizer for art materials
- A standee that shifts into different forms at the press of a button
- A plants vs zombies irl replica inspired by (sethbling’s) minecraft pvz
- A theater performance venue that lets users upload performances to play on friend’s devices (harry potter puppet pals)
- A lot of software there is involved -> a ghost story flip book that has dynamic room lighting when being read
- A table tennis game that gives target bounce areas that add extra points if you score when the ball passes through it
- A chair toy that drives go karts by leaning left and right (as if you were driving the car) -< this one’s pretty cool; add a small camera and you have a driving simulator that has a real life map that spectators can watch.
- Take another spin at the floating marble maze (but it’s like the difficult target marble game, so I’ll pass; I can’t even beat that)
It seems that a lot of my ideas tend to be something that might exist in the room of “Fireflies” by Owl City. Small toys and gadgets that enliven the room they live in.
I’m gonna watch that music video again rq.
fireflies
the train reminded me of a minigame in marioparty ds.
mini-game
It made me wonder for a moment about trains.
I think overall, I’m curious about making something small that I can experience from a 1st person perspective via a small camera, and I can interact with the environment.
So pretty much a dioramic VR-like experience. Small objects seem to make up a much larger world for you, and you can see the “larger world” moving right in front of you on the table top.
This gives you a 3d camera and fully immersed experiences that combines both cyber and physical components. This is the common theme it seems my ideas area heading towards.
I like to play around with senses of scale and perspective of experience that all exists snuggly in your soon to be magical room.
These are the 3D models for the ____ choice.
