As a group, we were all interested in some sort of articulate kinematics machine. We went with a bug of some kind, and eventually settled for a stinkbug.
We thought it'd be pretty cute to have a dancing stinkbug with a top hat greet others and make little emotes.

During this first week, we had a limited amount of time to meet together. We met on Saturday and spent that day choosing a leg model, finding servo motors, creating a circuit on a breadboard, and settling the code (which was very finnicky).
Eventually we got 3 motors working on a single leg!

We generally worked together and made a few things to conceptualize movement to our group mates. I was in charge of rigging up the leg to make assembly easier.
We managed to get a single leg working this week. When kinematics machine part 2 starts, we'll have to make 5 more of these and a body.
It'll be a lot, but I think we can do it. It just requires recreating and assembling these legs a few more times and formalizing the breadboard layout into a schematic and eventually a circuit board!
I'm gonna be working on the schematic on and off over the next week.
This experience felt really nice. I felt productive and I'm looking forward to working with them again in the week following this one.
