I'm curious about making something that hasn't been seen before.

These are the designs that are inspirations for me.
  1. flying machine
  2. spherical robot
  3. assembly of voxels

The inspiration that I'm seeing at this early stage from these is some sort of project that acts a bit like a pet. It can be carried with you and will help you get started on tasks.
Each of these inspirations are in some way detached from the main user, yet they also respond to the user's inputs and create outputs of their own.
In some cases it might be just visually striking, like looking upwards or downwards--where movement might illustrate meaning, like observing clouds, ants, and trees while you're lost in thought.
In other cases, it might physically alter your enviornment like setting voxels in place via speech to text.

I often have the most trouble getting started or trusting that what I'm doing is actually worthwhile. I want a companion that can get me started before I quit.

I did a maze project before using the laser cutter and a raspberry pi. This project reminded me of that, so I want to keep it close. maze project
