Getting the distance sensor to work was such a pain.
It was a constant state of anxiety over what pins out of the 12 needed to be connected and what didn't need to be connected.
It took 6 pcb designs before I finally got it to work.
Not to mention all the silly mistakes that cost me hours of time.
This mistake was me not making the drill holes 1.8mm deep.
When designing a new pcb I didn't connect the ground pins. BIG MISTAKE
Fixed all mistakes in the final pcb.

I wanted to try this distance sensor out with a stepper motor.
It was a little difficult to make it slow down and speed up
so I just opted to make it start or stop spinning as my hand gets closer.
It worked better than I expected!
