Soon I'll have a specific page for all images, renders in colour, animations and sketches so its more organized

MISSION: LOCATE THE "FUNNY" ... STILL SEARCHING

Ideas: The List.. that almost never gets updates

- A Pit-Boy from fallout, basically a cyberdeck but i want it to be practical - A Mechanical Muppet, or more specific a expressive hand that can react and gesture to things said. - "Seinfeld" - a small speaker that can react with a laugh track(s) or sound effects similar to those shows from the 90's. -"pick up" - unlike its name, its purpose is to make a huge mess with playing cards, maybe its being dispensed similar to those tennis ball machines. - THE force mouse - a motion control gadet that can be used like a mouse simialr to the Apple Vision gestures but actaully useful - The Worker - you give it a task you need to do and itll do everything in its power to presuure you into doing it with alarms, messages, threats, maybe tazing - Iron-Man tool, similar to hit amr blasters instead of the pulse of energy, its replaced by tools that can automatically switch to every need - "Yes Man" from Fallout New Vegas - just a helpful dude -etc

Videos or stuff: that maybe inspire?

Week 1: The Snap-Fit

> After being shown what a "snap-fit" is, I opened blender and made a simple model with some bones to animate it, its narrow opening forces it to bend/flex into place and snap in, granted its through blender so its size and lack of testing means its just a sketch.

pass

Week 2: "Final" Design

> I just wanted to see the idea of a real working pitboy, so a quick render of the idea is below, of course its not perfect and its missing things and the size of it isnt up to scale but its a step into the right direction and just below it is a reference, i soley based it off of this image \/\/\/

Week 3: Vinyl Cutting

> I told my younger brother about this class, and I told him about Vinyl and he immeditaity wanted something, so being the best brother, I asked him what will he want and he wanted a simple sticker of the Death Note like in the book

> So I looked online found the image, cut the background because it wasn't transparent, downloaded that correct verison and put that into my flashdrive, went to the IRL and cut it there

> Now if I had a choice, I would've choosen a "half-tone" design of Kanye West on FT, which im still planning to do

Week 3 (still): Laser Cutting

Welcome to MTV Pimp my Ride

> It all starts with a refrence, so I orginally started wanting to make a the "intial D" car which is a Corolla AE86 and have all the designs that came with it so found a sketch of a AE86 Corrolla and simplifiled the life out of it

> instead it looked more like the icon for Jelly Car so I mostly embrassed it

> after hours i designed it and got a full model on Onshape then forgot i needed it to be flat and 2d for it to work...

> Monday moring, walked into the IRL lab and was put into a DMV line and had to wait but after a while after a few tweaks from the machine it finally lazer-cut my car

> After some chat, picked up my stuff and went home to assemble it and everything fit besides the bottom, the thing that was holding everything else and I acciedently bent the pin part of the bottom too hard and it wouldnt fit no more - so i quickly took some mesurements and 3d printed a new bottom - which funny enought was way supeior comparied to the first time, since 1 it followed the "curve" of the car and 2 the pins were long enough for it to take some actual presure

NOW the MOMENT YOU HOPEFULLY BEEN WAITING FOR

I PRESENT THE WORLDS MOST JANK CARDBOARD LAZER-CUT CAR

> take a look at that beauty, stunning cardboard finish and very percise cuts like a haircut

> come look on the inside of it, no leather seatings, no windows, not even a steering wheel and is that wheels that were glued on into a stick? what a inovation

MISSION: STILL TRYING TO LOCATE THE "FUNNY" ... :3

Week 4: Custom PCP -

> This specific project took me way longer than what i expected it - for context we were assigned this in 9/24/24 and I barely finished it today 9/30/24

> FIRST - had to get wine since I am using Linux - not arch btw, not a challenge but still something i had to do to get the software. clone the project get the files and sending it KICAD edit some parts - export them as .gerbr and drill files into MarkeraCAM THEN CanveraController to send it off which started...

sick photos to distract you from the orginal sentence

problems - not fun to fix

MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING THIS INCLUDES TOOLS AND MESSUREMENTS OR ELSE YOU'LL SUFFER LIKE ME WHO DIDNT CHECK ANYTIME AND HAD TO REDO IT 4 EXTRA TIMES --

but after a couple of days and tweaking of the model and guidance from Xavier (THANK you so much cause he stayed til like 10 to help me)

Soldering time, yummy

> the oven took so long (25 minutes) to heat up while waiting I put the new soldering paste something I've never done since i do it "manually" which i messed up alot too cause i kepy breathing and "fat-fingering it" but after i heard that beep for the oven i tossed it in there and waited for my son to be complete and some parts were orrible but after some heating i think i did it

> say hello to my son, he has his date of birth and 8a to help him remember his last name and his expression :3, I made the failed ones into necklaces

Week 5: 3D printing and Scanning -

I failed completely at this section..

> I have this idea of a dice inside another and having Roman features, why? idk i watched too much videos at 3 am about the roamn empire and all its engineering marvels, so my contribution is a cubue with pillars and a huge shell that has "vini vidi vici" on each of the layers cause might as well, and i want pillars on the corners but i dont have time so heres what i got so far

> small upate a couple months later, I've achived a max of 6 cubes inside on another, the idea is to take the measurements from the first one then double it on every axis, Then I look into the G-Code of my 3D printer, and made it stop at the max height automatically then once I click resume it'll conntinue, WARNING SINCE THE PLATE WILL COOL OFF OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME IT MIGHT GIVE IT ELEPHANT FOOT OR SHIFT IN A UGLY WAY.... but then i would be able to insert the prevouis cube within it and itll close off.

a good idea to do would be 3d print a shirt design since thats addicitve and cant be done subtractive techially.

another thing is don't worry about design too much just worry if it s functional, trust me on this, the idea of roman arches and design quickly became annoyhing to keep but it was possible

> i designed a small plain dice first and when that finshed i sanded some it down, because it was honestly rough (innner), and the brace is more simpler because its the first layer and it shouldnt have much detail compared to the rest, but I did incoprpate "roman arches"

i burned my orginal cube now it has a scuff - whoops

Week 6: Custom PCP BUT CODING -

i hate the xiao rp2040 board, my alliance is with aurdino nanos or picos

> this little dude kepted not reading my ports so it was constant matenence and checkking and totally not because im bad with it.. i really wanted to use the actualy board cause that took a while to make and it seemed like a waste to just not use it after it caused me so much pain so i used jumper wires to hook up some old lights an downloading the ada fruit neo pixel library

>multiple times it just turned off without warning and it made my hearrt drop beause i thougth i did something wrong - no it just decided to troll me

little bastard thinks hes slick

NAH IM MAD STILL - - NO LOCATION.................. :3 lol

>ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS GET THE LIGHTS TO TURN ON WHEN I CLICK THE BUTTON AND IT TOOK WAY TO LONG I FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT

I DID IT YAYYYY

but to be honest its just lights nothing to complicated the only hard part was to keep the pins in place so itll be abke to read and having my laptop ports real the Xiao Board, so this isn't just a one sided rant.

one thing to take away is that make sure your IDE and ports are fone first, maybe e ven switch the ccable beofre yoi think its another issue.

Week 7: Datasheets and Comparisons

too be honest this section is just spec sheets about what baord/microcontroller i like

(Update 1/7/25) - Make sure you know how things will be powered and how much it can handle before you fry multiple boards, and realize that some processors are better for certain things and others are slow.

Almost an RISC (Harvard Architecture processor) and ARM Chips

For the classic Ardinuo Nano - the classic mirco-controller if your techincal SKU A000005, The actual brains of the pcp is the ATmega328 - and i reguakry prefer for all my ports to be the same - looking at you apple, your always late but make good products sometimes.

Raspberry Pi Pico

An RP2040 microcontroller chip designed by Raspberry Pi - which is a Dual-core Arm Cortex M0+ processor, flexible clock running up to 133 MHz - below is the "meat" of the board

Pins Specs

Actaul Chip RP2040

A stateless device, with support for cached execute-in-place from external QSPI memory. This design decision allows you to choose the appropriate density of non-volatile storage for your application, and to benefit from the low pricing of commodity flash parts.

Differences

In terms of hardware capabilities, the Raspberry Pi Pico clearly has an edge over the standard Arduino Nano, with a faster processor, more flash memory, more GPIO pins, and extensive control over PWM signals. Also, the dual-core processor present on the Pico is good for multithreaded programs. - However, the Raspberry Pi Pico lacks EEPROM, often essential for microcontroller-based projects.

Mid-Project

"the pick-up"

Unlike the name, its purpose is to shoot cards and make a mess,But also have the idea of it shooting at mock 10 and cut through fruit or something but also shoot and dispense a good amount for a game

The reason why Im making this is a bit of revenge and fun party trick idea like a cooler version of a money gun but better since your not wasting your fake money or real, because i was tricked into playing "pickup" which is making a mess wiht card after tossing it in the air

ALSO the reason why im using a Arduino v3 instead of a smarter or better board like a rp2040 or Pi Pico or an ESP132 is because i saw this cool as design and simmplity of another board i saw in a video by Engineezy

Bread Board First

this is my orginal idea how the motor is supposed to work - using the simple pins of the Aurdino Nano V3, GND, 5V D6 etc

Below I have a failed schimatecis because Im stupid and forgets how things are supposed to work

FAILURES

did someone say perfection?.............. :3

btw its okay ti fail yall, perfection doesnt happen first try

just like their father, they try their best but is mostly just accecpts it

Mk1

Mk2

Mk3

Eventually I get it

after a lession in KiCAD tutorials, and learning how to convert a Breadboard to PCB design -- this was the hardest part because I completely and learning what a unversial ground means and remebering i need a battery source area - I get my final PCB schematic design after days of planning it in a small notebook

HERES mine now finally

sick ass 3d model from KICAD

not full picture yet

Ordering it from PCB Way

even if you make a jank anad horrible baord they will let you know if itll even work before and not just accept garbage -- so shoutout my PCB way agent for being patient and being able to understand it was supposed to work

I'll keep yall updated on the arrival and functionality

Hopefully I can finish it before the due date

Update from after projects were presented, a couple of things I want to say, I realized that we should double-check our tools before using them and wasting a lot of copper and time- since I've spent the majority of the time trying to cut out a new board since the ones I ordered didn't work since I designed the board so horrible and I didn't need the microcontroller just one part

as you can see the gap really killed me and my idea of for software also left my mind sinc ei realised that you dont need a ardinuo nano since i have the cjip whihc could do that but the problem is that i lack a brain so instead of the chip doing the heavy lifting the nano was, The orginaly purpose was to make sure the chip listen to the next command of the nano based on how much power was going through, If it was a small amount itll do 5 spins and stop and repeat the higher will unload the whole magizine, the inddle will do a bit of both, somwhat fast but stops and reverses and tne max speed. The Postoion of the motor needs to be inporved but overall a good learning expirence

When I designed the enclosure I expected it to work since my other cases were mostly effective but the difference is that sizes and one small change can mess everything up, the main problem besides the handles not holding because the glue was a dumb idea and should've been an insert slot mechanism the cards wasn't able to be pushed down causing it not to be unable to leave incredibly quickly after the presentation and saying goodbye, I got tips to improve the idea, one was to close the distance of the motor and the slot, another was to open the reload area so it'll be able to slide better, the conners were to short not being able to let the card again slide into position, the software could also be worked on since my idea of having the motor go backward to unclogged failed but all progress will be worth it.

I am currently making a "pickup v2" and it's definitely smaller and has taken all parts and tips but once a tad more testing and better design choices, I'll realize it here. Excited for this new chapter.

Ill add pictures and videos later trust
